Teton Pines Country Club, Jackson Hole Wyoming
Winter in Jackson Hole is incredible. Typically, the ski season is early December through early April, although snow can occur nearly any month of the year. During ski season, temperatures usually range from lows near zero to highs in the teens and twenties. The weather and climate generally make for some of the best ski conditions in the Rockies. An interesting weather phenomenon that sometimes occurs in Jackson Hole is an inversion – temperatures at higher altitudes (top of the mountains) can actually be some 20 to 30 degrees warmer than valley floor temperatures. Layering of clothing is recommended for winter activities as weather and temperatures can change quickly.
A powder paradise awaits the winter visitor. There are simply too many activities to list, so please feel free to call us for a more personalized description. However, to start, a list of the most popular activities includes – cross country skiing, downhill skiing (Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Grand Targhee or Snow King), dogsledding, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, tubing and wildlife expeditions. Any trip to Jackson Hole should include an experience in the outdoors. Many resorts and outfitters specialize in these and other activities and have tremendous experience and qualified staff to ensure your adventure is safe and enjoyable.
